The Porsche 944 was the successor to the 924. It took the car upmarket with a larger bodyshell and wheel bulges. The 944 was a very capable performer and a civilised drive which proved very popular. A turbo version was added in 1985 and a Series 2 car gave a new lease of life in 1989, complete with convertible.
