The Mk 2 Scirocco was built on the existing platform of the Mk 1 but was a fresher, more modern design. It had a distinctive rear spoiler situated part way up the rear window and square quad headlights. The engine variations through its life were many and varied starting with a 1.1(!) up to a multi-valve 1.8. The Scirocco name was dropped in favour of Corrado for the next generation car but revived again for the 2007 release.
